[SOLVED] Global Star Issue

According to what Huki said few months before at Discord, star capture is synchronized since 1.2, so it applies to both p2p and nop2p and message will be broadcasted to everyone, and it is only possible to capture same star when players get it at the same instant.

However, it seems not really the case based on our experience in Metro-Volt and here's our test last time:

Test 1 (3 ppl got the same star) (3rd person point-of-view)
https://streamable.com/c2by6

Test 2 (also 3 ppl got the same star, closer timing)
https://streamable.com/73gzv

Test 3 (MOST IMPORTANT ONE)(wait until the 1st person used it, 2 ppl got the same star)
https://streamable.com/iqe3p

We can see that the star did not disappear at the same instant/ close timing when the star has been taken at the first time and it seems that the message was not even trying to broadcast.

We understand it's impossible to be 100% accuracy but that's far from accurate just like players got bombed by same clone.

Does the track in question have multiple global stars by any chance? In this case, the game removes one star at random every time the star capture message is broadcasted. There is no attempt to identify which star was captured. So the behavior is broken in this case. I'll see what can be done to improve this.

Yep, Metrovolt has at least 3 off the top of my head.

Hmm, we never thought of that so didn't check if the other star disappeared or not and yes there're 3 stars in Metro-Volt.

We actually did at least 5 more tests other than the records above, but none of them the game has removed the first star correctly there, not sure if that's a coincidence or not.

Does this happen only for certain tracks?
I know Helios got several stars for example but never saw that happening there.

People don't always go for the star in Helios though. The only other track where people always go for the star that has multiple is Re-Ville (although the pack update released today removed them), but there the star removal order seems to always work out. And just from racing on Metro-Volt the first star gets picked up multiple times no matter what. Perhaps the stars are not removed at random and it just happens to work out in Re-Ville while in Metro the first star takes more people picking it up to be removed.

It could be that they are removed in a certain order, of course.

Star of multiple use  Funny but also very problematic. The stars maybe disappear in the order in which they were placed on the track while making (placing stars) the track? Or the stars disappear in order in relation to a certain coordinate. Or something else
