Re-Volt Kiwi's Carskins

Unread post by Kiwi » Wed Mar 06, 2019 7:13 am

From now on, I will post my newest carskins also in this topic, for the people who are interested in alternate carskins, and don't visit my Creations website regularly.

Last weekend I did an alternative skin for Pure's new Super Wheat (Download at RVZ), which I called "Harvey". Super Wheat is one of the nicest cars in the last time, I recommend it to everyone who love unique - but stocklike - cars. Harvey is a skin with elements of the 2 standard Super Wheat skins, with some new details. I hope you like it. :)

In yesterdays I/O Pro-session I raced Eaglet for the first time. It's a really nice Semi-Pro car by Mighty, based on a model by Rexreynolds. (Download from RVZ) While racing I immediately had an idea for a skin, which I started working on today. And here it is! The skin is called Beeaglet. I took some inspiration from Xarc's wonderfull Honey Rush car, by adding also some honeycomb graphics.

For the screenshots I used the alternate version of Eaglet, which can found in the cars folder. It's the same car, but with a rear spoiler. I'm not 100% sure, but I think I like it even more this way, then the original version. :)

Today I released an update for Panther, which is a colab between Xarc and me. (Download from RVZ). I've adjusted the shading, and Kipy helped me in doing a new hul, so the cars collisions are more accurate now. In addition, I wanted to use the chance, and also add a new alternative carskin. I always thought that red would fit Panther very well - and yes, I am pretty happy how it turned out. :) I think this new red skin is a pretty nice additon to the black standard skin.

Yesterday I had a look, if there are any stock-cars where not a single alternative skin is available. I've found only one: The most beloved Genghis Kar! Reason enough for me, trying to do a skin. And this was not so easy. First I wanted to make a evil black skin, but Genghis Kar is one of the models, which use vertex paint (red) AND reflections (red). So there was not much possibilities, regarding the color. However, in the end I was pretty happy how it turned out. Especially the rims give the car a completly different look.

Zipperzb posted some pictures from cars (I think it was a Dodge Viper and a Corvette C6) from NFS Most Wanted in Discord at the weekend, which I took as inspiration for this new skins for Zipper. Again, the very limiting Zipper-mapping was really challenging to work with, but I like how the skins turned out in the end! I hope you like it too. :) The skins are called "Poizon". You can choose between a Green and a Black version.

Last summer I've released a remodel of R6 Turbo/Sizzler. It's called R6 Extreme. It's probably the car I personally love most of all the cars I made until now. I don't know exactly why...the car was not that much work, but I think everything fits perfectly, visually and parameter-wise. I will release this car in an upcoming package of cars and tracks for Competitive Re-Volt races, and therefor I did some alternate skins for it. The first is a black/dark grey version, with some orange parts, and the other one is a purple version. The purple version is kind of a tribute to R6 Turbo, and I think it's my favourite of all the three skins for R6 Extreme. :)

I really like DRJ-61 by Phimeek (Download from RVZ). That's why I added the car to the Plus Pack, and that's also why I did a skin for it in the last days. The skin use the same design as the Co-Work between Kipy and me, BigChief. But to be honest, I like it on DRJ-61 much more. :)

Artair (Download from RVZ) is a car I did together with Mighty Cucumber. For some reason there were people who thought Artair stands for Arctic Air, but this is completly wrong. Artair is a word from the old scotish gaelic language, and it‘s related to my real life name. You pronounce it like „Ataeeeer“. However, maybe I will do an Arctic Air skin sometimes in the future! ;) For now, I did an orange skin with some black parts, and I called it Black Flame. Hope you like it.

Today in the night Norfair posted a skin for Mighty's TT Raider in the Discords #cars channel. I was impressed by the quality of this skin. I never thought that TT Raider can look that good, because the tires from the original car always bugged me. So I got inspired, and did my own TT Raider repaint today. I looked very closly at Norfair's skin, and learned a lot from the shading he did. As a result I did the (in my opinion) best shading so far, and I hope I can also achieve that quality in my next skins. :)
