Blender [Blender Plugin] No collision NCP export

Unread post by kiwi » Thu Jun 14, 2018 11:22 am

Hello Marv,

I have a suggestion for the Blender plugin: When exporting the .ncp-file, both the checkmarks at No Collision, as well the material has to be set to NONE. Otherwise, the face will still allow collisions.

It would be better, if only the checkmark at No Collision has to be set?

Example: This setting...

...let the car drive on the water surface, because with only No Collision set, the faces have still collision enabled:

I'm not sure what exactly the "No Collision" flag is supposed to do in-game, but from what I recall if you set the ncp material to NONE then the ncp exporter simply ignores them.

I am not 100% sure (I am not in front of my PC so I can test), but I think both (the No Collision-checkbox and the material NONE) has to be set.

However, in my opinion, it would be more user-friendly, when the No Collison is enough to ignore the faces on export. For Non-Re-Volt-Editing-Pros it's the first thing to try No Collison.

It's only a suggestion. For sure it's also OK as it is now, but it would save some time and make life easier for beginners.

The game doesn't know about any no-collision flag or a NONE material. Those are solely used by my add-on to determine which faces are going to be exported.
Setting either the flag or the material should skip them while exporting.
I'll look into it.
