[SOLVED] [RVGL] Glitchy Antenna Tips

As posted in the Stunt GP conversion thread , the antenna tips currently behave strangely, preventing us from creating proper custom antennas (e.g. flags). When the car is moving, the antenna tips randomly rotate at 90 degree angles, which is not noticeable with the default antenna due to its symmet...

Re: StuntGP - someone? something? (SGPRV)

We decided to create a channel on the RV Workshop for this, since it can be more convenient when it comes to collaborative projects. If anyone would like to help with the conversion process, please join us!

Re: Spam-Users

Yep, activation is email-based. Marv also suggested enabling moderation for the very first post made by new users. However, while it would prevent spam from showing up again, I worry that all the moderation efforts would simply move from removing the spam to approving posts. Personally, I think seei...

Re: StuntGP - someone? something? (SGPRV)

I'm interested! Me and Marv have both wondered about porting some of this content over, but never quite managed to rip any models. I'm really curious how you figured it out. The biggest obstacle I see would be the car antennas. @ Huki : Any chance we might see a fix for the twitchy antenna tips in t...

Re: Spam-Users

Hmm, never quite noticed that. It might help to deactivate older accounts with no posts. Some regular users would likely get caught in, but it should be okay if we make a roll call thread for them to post in first.

Re: [RVGL] Mutliplayer game terminations

That is indeed the case when autokick is enabled. However, the issue at hand occurs even with autokick disabled. From what I recall, this has been a problem even before the autokick feature was implemented, and I suspect (based on prior observations) that it is likelier to occur when either the host...

It's profile.ini, not rvgl.ini. You can find that in <rvgl installation folder>/profiles/<your profile> among the .level files.

Re: [RVGL] UTF-8/Windows-1252 bug with 18.1110a

Tried it on Linux. It seems to act slightly different on my end: https://i.imgur.com/WqRU0ZG.png I still get the issue with the name (quite curious that everything after a space is fine, though), but the files seem to load up fine. Note that I'm using the RVZ version rather than the original AF2 rel...

Re: Change car mid-race and random car suggestion

+1. There is a lot of demand for the ability to change cars without restarting, especially in I/O sessions (where the lobbies fill up quickly), and I figured it could use a bump.

Re: RV Soundtrack Project

Nope, that song has been there for a while, but I intend to replace it nonetheless. Your song sounds good, but my main concern with it is that it might not fit in. It sounds very cheerful, if not cartoonish—the type of song that would be great in Mario Kart or Crash Bandicoot, but might not work qui...

Redbook variations

I posted two topics related to music in the past, one about expanding customisation options and the other about its multiplayer behaviour. This topic is more or less a direct copy of the first suggestion from the music customisation topic, but I wanted to bring more attention to it since I think it'...

Re: Car based custom sounds

I am supportive of this idea, especially for the possibility of custom honk sounds, but also agree with Kiwi's point about using them in the I/O pack. I assure you that I will avoid that, and will also alter Acclaim F1 to use the default sound again. As a side note, I strongly disagree with it being...

Re: RV Soundtrack Project

I'd like to encourage the continuation of submitting new soundtracks, this time for the I/O custom music pack . Unused redbook music, such as Back in the Backyard , can instead be assigned to specific custom tracks that are part of the I/O collection. Sakura , for example, is in dire need of a sound...

The voting has ended. You may see the results here. Before any changes are implemented, there will be two days of discussions that may alter the outcome of the upcoming update. For Steps 1 and 3 , using this forum thread is preferable, to give more visibility to each argument. For Step 2 , join us o...

Re: Camera pitch/roll using AI nodes

+1. This would also open the possibility for some fancy gravity shenanigans on sci-fi custom tracks, like driving on walls or upside-down. We could finally have proper vertical loops and all, too.

Car Collection Voting (September 2018)

Before we add any new cars to the main Car Collection , we are looking for some feedback to help us decide which cars to move to the Bonus Cars pack. Persistent sound while driving on custom materials

Currently, it is possible to assign sounds to custom materials, but they can only be enabled by sliding or scraping against the surface. The option to always hear a sound while simply driving on the surface would be extremely useful for properly replicating surfaces such as gravel or pebbles.

There's plenty of stuff out there to convert. If you think you'll enjoy it, then yes, definitely. What software would you use for importing, exporting, and altering the models?
