Re: The rv.gl domain

What's wrong with RVZ? I thought the problem with it is the file size limit, which is a limitation for new, big Extreme tracks, but the search? Also I doubt it would be possible to do, but if rv.gl is a domain to host games through an easier and shorter "IP", can't it be also made to act like a cent...

I do, you might try editing yours to make it similar to this (the one below is not a desktop icon, but very similar, it's a "Start Menu" icon, but the links in Path,Exec, and Icon should be the same/similar): RVGL.desktop [Desktop Entry] Comment=Re-Volt port for Linux Terminal=false Name=RVGL Type=A...

Re: Live point system !

Who would decide how many points are given for each specific position? Or would it be predetermined? What about races with unusual player count? What about too many multiplayer options? Maybe there would be several pre-made types of multiplayer championship point systems to pick from? Would it be sw...

This is a definite game changer that influences players' decisions during races, a very big no.

Re: Renaming the I/O Car Classes

So if not what I wrote then the other best option is to leave the game cars as it is, mayybe change the I/O car lists' names to distinguish them from the stock and in-game car ratings and mayyybe add a feature I described here , but I'm not for adding it, not too against it as well, up to the Dev wh...

Re: Car whitelist for server hosts

After some thought I came to an idea to implement this, if this should ever be implemented. This would be an additional "external" feature, it would work by adding a carlistmulti.ini (or something like that) file in the profiles/player/ folder. The game would allow for the host and for the players j...

Re: Renaming the I/O Car Classes

This was a problem ever since the I/O car classes started shifting away from the original car classes, this happened many years ago and persists to this day, no surprise. Modifying RVGL in order to make it compatible with the fickle and subjective I/O classes would be an affront to the game: RVGL an...

Re: Suggestion Next version RVGL

I agree with Kipy, 607 and Alex. None of these are really needed or even should appear. As for TT I also want to add that it is about setting a best time by driving from start to finish (in either 1 lap circuit track or sprint). If you fail, you repo to the start line and start again. It's useless t...

Re: [RVGL] Camera issues since 19.0819 update

I think none of the issues above exist, together with the camera jitter that appears when car is stationed near a wall. But I think I noticed something new. Difficult to achieve in real-time races, but still something: https://youtu.be/RdHqfMfuZ5E I think the camera "jitters" or "jumps" in the video...

Re: [RVGL] Camera issues since 19.0819 update

I can confirm that in the 19.1001 version the Supermarket 1 issue has happened to me before, it happens like in ~15% of tries and this should not happen so often. On the other hand I experience something totally different in the narrow tunnel, something kinda cool. I also like the general behaviour ...

Re: Candy Jumping original sample

It's probably a case similar to the "Pachelbel canon in D" or "The Wilhelm Scream" case – this may be simply a decent string of notes that matches many songs in a particular tempo (and also allows for additional instruments to be played alongside it quite easily), so it is used more widely than we e...

Re: GJ's and I Spy's Workshop

:( People would adapt to the confusing change after 2 weeks, but with the current name we will stay the confusion will for 2 years and for forever :( Still the biggest confusion is with the DC "Rooftops" track. For example when people say "witcher 1", people always refer to the game "The Witcher", e...

Re: GJ's and I Spy's Workshop

Well then Rooftops 1 would become again just Rooftops, the "DC-stock". If the name should be changed, it's better to change it right after it's release rather than later.

Re: GJ's and I Spy's Workshop

I think (not sure though) that the track name could be changed just in a text file with an update without messing with alll the files and the filename itself and the name would be better, but I'm not pushing you to do that.

Re: GJ's and I Spy's Workshop

Rooftops 1 really looks great, I see you took inspiration from the Gallery and concept Re-Volt pics for this track (like the steam pushing the car in the air), I really like that. This track features a lot of forcefields and forces some of the racing paths previously available on Fiddlers on the Roo...

My picks, state as of 15-09-2019. It's very hard to make a list, rather than just a group of best tracks, here's my try: 1. Skating Toys The best custom track in my opinion. Looks even more stock-like than stock Toys in the Hood tracks. A long track that required a lot of memorisation, knowledge abo...

Re: Route-77

A very good track, I really like the obstacles as well as the bent but quite smooth racing line. What I don't like and what could be updated is the collision on all of the fences, signs and scaffolds, so that for example a higher car can't go under the scaffold because it's too high or when a car ge...

Re: Your Re-Volt Collection

Not a very large collection, but I started playing Re-Volt all because my cousin gave me this CD (it has some other minor games as well, DSJ Ski Jumping, Hercules…) when I was almost/just 6 years old (around 2003 or so). Re-Volt was not my first game to play (my first game to ever be played was Spyr...

Sprint races, yeah! Now someone can make a proper top-speed test track or acceleration test track or a dragstrip track for car comparisons (right now there is only ZR's Dragstrip ZR, required manual 1-lap setting)

Re: RVGL Track: Destructed City (2019)

Use lowercase letters everywhere, because Linux won't read it, had to use case name changer provided with the linux rvgl version (track appeared to be entirely black). Lowercase fix fixed it. Also the camera closes up to the car most of the time, mostly when car is near a pavement, but not only, wha...
