Re: Urban-X - WIP Track

Looks fantastic. I see you're trying to up your game and use tools that are as well used by game development companies.
I'm curious how the end result will look like!

Re: [RVGL] Direction triggers bug

Hey! Managed to test this on different framerates, and R6TE was correct. On lower fps, there's a higher chance that you miss a trigger because of this, I believe. From my tests, it seems like the game's physics refresh rate is the same as the fps number. My video shows it well: https://www.youtube....

Re: [RVGL] Direction triggers bug

Hi Kiwi, First of all, you've made an amazing looking track! I'm proud :D What I think what happened is that Floxit passed the trigger in between the calculation of the frames. I assume at the start of every frame or physics frame it will see whether the car is inside a trigger field, if yes, displa...

Re: Renaming the I/O Car Classes

A short reply:

A solution could be as well to incorporate IO classes and make RVGL support it. When a lobby selects an IO class, the players could see that as a prompt/option/text, if possible. It shouldn't be too hard to implement.

What do you think?

Agreed with Kiwi. Edinburgh is super beautiful. I'd love to see a track in that theme. Maybe even with a spooky night setting as reversed ;)

Re: Open-Volt Project

Regarding that this is programmed partly in C#, this could very well be a
CultureInfo ^1
thing. I recommend @Steb to look at the comma's and dots in parameters.txt that could cause this error on specific computers (maybe US rather than European systems). For the best result I recommend ...

Re: Realistic R/C

I really like how the RC Bandit looks like! Keep up the good work, this is real high quality work! Maybe an alternative rear wheel texture/model would be really cool as well, I think such as this one would be really suitable. https://i.ytimg.com/vi/mYHNeg-f3wM/maxresdefault.jpg I see the effort you ...

Re: Route-77

Great work, I really like the aesthetic, hopefully you can add some higher quality textures here on the environment and there to make it look even better! I think the raceline is lots of fun, where people can shoot rockets or water balloons to send the others off the track.

Keep up the good work!

Re: Open-Volt Project

I had the exact same feeling as well, cars seem to be more twitchy and stuff, this is a cause of faster physics calculation, I think?

This looks extremely awesome, keep up the great work

The idea is really cool, Iron Bob. The execution looks great as well and I am curious how the details will look like when the cars are completed!

Re: Open-Volt Project

@r6te ... Now that you state that Open-Volt should be viewed as a tool rather than a game, this makes much more sense. I am especially interested in the track editor, which was an idea that me and many others (probably) had before and there was even an old prototype made by Kay, which attempted som...

Re: Open-Volt Project

This looks super awesome. Despite you being pretty clear what you want to do with it, but (genuinely curious, in a good way) what do you hope to achieve with this framework? I can imagine you thinking people creating new stuff with this, using the engine (maybe even different RC car games?) This mig...

Re: Favourite Custom Tracks

A bit of this might be nostalgia, so the order might not be completely correct. 1. Ranch Didn't get bored of this one yet, even when I made it and spent more than two years on it. I also love the looks of it and it looks much better than I could ever imagine. 2. Toy World Mayhem Had lots of fun with...

Dear Kiwi, Thank you for your reply. There has been progress in jura but mainly in the bigger details, which are also important of course. some of the smaller details such as plants have been modeled already but they will be placed after the main mesh and style is done. https://i.imgur.com/3eXVt5g.p...

Jura

Hello guys! I just have been planning and working on a new track called Jura - with the experiences from Ranch and other creations of mine I want to create an awesome (long) track. Jura is based on the Jurassic era where there were many dinosaurs and reptiles. Set in a time 100 million years ago, wh...

Are your graphics drivers up-to-date? You can download new graphics drivers on the Nvidia website. Try that and see if it helps ;-)

What graphics card do you have? It should start. Try launching it without shader mode. You can set Shaders = 0 in /profiles/rvgl.ini.

Re: Santorini

That surely looks good. An easy way to really improve the aesthestic by a good chunk is to model a few (low-poly) buildings that look like the ones in Santorini and duplicate them across the track. It looks like something that is floating. After the makeitgood I recommend to add many more plants, th...
