Re: [RVGL] Camera issues since 19.0819 update

I've attempted a different fix, where the switch from "racing" to "stationary" mode is not abrupt but happens gradually based on the car speed. A speed above 5mph switches completely to "racing" behavior. What do you think about this? rvgl_19.1008a_test_win32.7z rvgl_19.1008a_test_win64.7z rvgl_19.1...

Re: [RVGL] Replays not using ALT parameters.txt for same car files

Cars are identified by their display name rather than their folder name. This means you need to give each car a unique name to prevent such conflicts. Having cars identified by their folder name, just like tracks, is a planned improvement in RVGL, but there are reasons why it can't be done already. ...

Re: [RVGL] Camera issues since 19.0819 update

Yes, the jump happens when switching from "racing" to "stationary" mode. The "stationary" mode is activated when speed of the car is below 3mph ( plus a few other tests: only in case of "wall" collision, and only when line of sight between car and camera is not obstructed - this condition helps with...

Re: [RVGL] Camera issues since 19.0819 update

I've uploaded a new build, can you test this? It has the same fixes as 19.1004a, plus a special case when the car is not moving, to prevent the jitter. rvgl_19.1006a_test_win32.7z rvgl_19.1006a_test_win64.7z rvgl_19.1006a_test_linux.7z Speaking only for me: The strange camera behaviour is much worse...

Re: [RVGL] Camera issues since 19.0819 update

I think that none of the two issues/features above take place in the 19.1004 version, but it brings back a medium-sized jittering: Yes, unfortunately. :/ Maybe it's the best thing to achieve. Or maybe there is a workaround possibility to force the camera to stop jittering (=trying to improve it's p...

Re: [RVGL Release] 19.1001a

In situations like these, when a hotfix is needed on the same day, we simply overwrite the original release. We don't increase the version number because each release is ~80MB total and we like to keep all previous versions on our server for archival purposes. A version number bump, even for a simp...

It's really that bad? That sounds surprising and definitely not intended. I'll wait to see the video. Look for yourself. I don't use any buttons to change view or look back. Everything is recorded with the normal view from behind the car. SuperMarket 1: https://vimeo.com/364129961 (Beginning ~ Seco...

Re: [RVGL Release] 19.1001a

Re: [RVGL] Camera issues since 19.0819 update

To be clear, the fix for high fps involves scaling the camera movement (after collision impact), based on the frame rate. When scaled along all 3 axes it induces the ugly jitter. If we want to fix the "low camera" bug, it's enough to scale the Y axis. In this case, the "different camera position whe...

Re: [RVGL] Camera issues since 19.0819 update

In the latest release ( 19.1001 ) I updated the behavior again. The shift applied during camera collision is scaled (according to frame rate) along the Y axis - this is enough to fix the "low camera" issue. X and Z now remain unscaled. This prevents the stuttering shown in my video. I feel this is t...

It looks like something wrong with the skybox textures. Try to fix them, or remove them and use the default textures.

Re: [RVGL Release] 19.1001a

I got a message yesterday (from AUR package user) that control sum does not match. It may be because "hotfix" by overwriting same archive/version. This undermines current versioning scheme. So the suggestion I have is just re-release hotfix under new version 19.1002 to make sure everybody updated f...

Re: Rvgl on Old AGP PC Hardware (GPU)

The newer OpenAL versions are known to have poor compatibility with WinXP. The OpenAL library was upgraded in 18.1020a - the issue is probably introduced after this version. But I tried recent RVGL versions on XP, after this upgrade, and they ran fine even though the audio was scratchy. Is your XP u...

Re: Rvgl on Old AGP PC Hardware (GPU)

From the log, it looks like the video subsystem has loaded completely. The crash could have happened while initializing input or audio. Try running the game (latest version) with the -nosound parameter. Does that help?

Re: Rvgl on Old AGP PC Hardware (GPU)

It could rather be WinXP compatibility issues, but the last time I tried it worked fine on XP.

Check your profiles folder for a re-volt.log file. Get a log once after running with 'Shaders = 0' and another with 'Shaders = 1', and upload it (use pastebin). Then we can look further into this.

Re: RVGL Android Xbox One Controller LT and RT Triggers Not Working

Running the RVGL Controller Map app will generate a mapping for your controller. You then have to copy the mapping to the game config yourself. It's not added automatically - this is a known issue and is planned to be improved in the future. See ( #1093 ) for more information and steps on how to add...

Re: RVGL on Archlinux ARM

No hardware acceleration? :o The RK3399 should have Mali-T860MP4, which is a pretty good GPU. It's a shame RVGL can't utilize it. Dang it Google . ;) Although, the Gallium LLVMpipe driver does expose OpenGL 3.1 functionality, including shader support, so I'm not sure what's causing it to fail. The r...
