Re: Custom .prm files?

.prm files cannot be customized directly, just like Marv said. Adding support for it should be pretty straightforward though, so expect to see it in the next release. :eyes:

Re: [RVGL] Car/Track Randomizer

It is 100% impossible, that the name of a folder (or even the date when a folder was copied in the cars/levels folder) has influence to the chance of being picked from the randomizer, right? It's definitely 100% impossible. The randomizer is based entirely on the ID of each car or track (a number)....

Re: [RVGL 19.0430] Missing glass on shader renderer

This is a known issue and another consequence of shader and legacy using different techniques. You can notice this in the Supermarket 2 sliding doors too, as also in Spa-Volt. In short, fixing this requires updating the sliding door mesh. Read below for a longer answer. The legacy renderer handles e...

I am asking because I wanna use Urne's 32-bit Textures mod (I still have it if someone is interested).
And I'd really appreciate it if you can upload this, and any other old stuff you might have lying around. :)

Re: Description of autokick feature for track files

Yeah, the initial changelog doesn't make it clear as we didn't want to make the checked files list public. We changed our mind after the ensuing confusion about visual mods, which is why the next release log contains the complete files list as of that release. The current list is this: *.taz, *.fan,...

Re: RC Bandit not mandatory

This bug is now fixed. To elaborate, there were two separate issues: Crash when attempting to load a non-existent car (eg, remove key cars and load frontend). Non-existent cars now remain invisible rather than causing a crash. A deadlock when RC Bandit is removed and a random cars race is started. S...

Re: [RVGL 19.0430] Benchmark mode is FPS-dependant

There is an FPS entry for every second during the run. Here's the output on my computer for example: 264.22 RVGL Game Gauge File 225 Min 332 Max 256 Second 1 250 Second 2 264 Second 3 287 Second 4 264 Second 5 225 Second 6 332 Second 7 285 Second 8 272 Second 9 I guess on faster computers the entire...

Re: [RVGL 19.0430] Shader lighting differs from legacy renderer

Hmm, I never thought of that... I thought the goal was to re-write a code and make Re-Volt cross-platform, but preserve its look and feel as close as possible. But, it does preserve look and feel as close as possible . :( Like I said, shader renderer != legacy renderer - it uses different te...

Re: RVGL now on Arch Linux AUR

Ok, nice work, and thanks for the explanation.

I believe you need to add 2 more dependencies to rvgl-bin:
- sdl2
- libgl

Otherwise everything looks fine. I'm going to try it out later this week.

Re: RVGL Startup speed

So, the filesystem is not fragmented and also it's an SSD, which should significantly speed up filesystem reads. That's very strange. I don't have any news yet as I haven't tried to reproduce this situation on my computer. I'll keep you informed then.

Re: [RVGL 19.0430] Shader lighting differs from legacy renderer

Better performance, yes, but the rendered screen should be exactly the same between the two versions I believe. Weird, I've never noticed or heard of that before... In fact, the shader and legacy renderer are totally different and need not look the same. That's not the goal either. Anyway, from the...

It's true that the replay runs instantly, but the game should save out an 'fps.txt' file to your profiles folder containing the measured frame rates.

Re: [RVGL 19.0430] V-Sync option doesn't take effect if anti-aliasing is turned on

If you run a game without anti-aliasing and change V-Sync option, it will take effect immediately. But if you turn anti-aliasing on and try to change V-Sync again it won't do anything until you turn off anti-aliasing or restart a game. This is really a driver specific problem. Vsync should work jus...

Re: RVGL now on Arch Linux AUR

Excellent packaging, much thanks from a fellow Arch user! I think there are a couple of points that could be improved though: 1) The game files are part of rvgl-bin. This could cause the game files to be downloaded unecessarily for each subsequent RVGL update (unless makepkg reuses downloaded source...

Re: RVGL Startup speed

Place both versions (19.0320a and 19.0430a) executables (only the rvgl.exe) in your main installation folder (rename the other one as rvgl_19.0320a.exe) and run the tests again, with the same command lines for both. I'd like to see a video from that setup. This would help us confirm whether somethin...

Re: Make your voice be heard - A Re-Volt survey (Results)

If "RVGL project" is just referring to the game itself and stock contents (plus DC contents), then it's fine I am a bit off topic here. But if you are also talking about I/O group (by looking at many points are involved I/O and the server), it's just a bit contradicting to what you say here and the...

I noticed that you forgot change "Stiskni Pauzu pro pokračování" string in czech translation.
I thought "Stiskni Esc pro pokračování" was an oversight? It's supposed to be "Press Pause to continue", so I kept the previous version "Stiskni Pauzu pro pokračování".

Re: ToySoldierz: Reversed

There is a misplaced custom file: reversed\custom\strmrain.wav should really be custom\reversed\strmrain.wav . Hmm no, sounds are always looked for in the main custom folder, there is currently no reversed support for them. So the only valid path is custom\strmrain.wav . Maybe it should be improved ...
