Re: Playing on Mac OS

Old topic, but in case people don't know at this point, there's already a native RVGL version for the Mac platform. The given link in the above post utilizes it, but if you need a clean version without provided assets, it's of course can be found on the https://rvgl.org. Package with bundled stock a...

Re: Suggestions regarding Frontend customisations

it will lead to some empty messages being sent. After seeing the online races now for two months, I have to say that nearly every new player falls in this chat trap of sending empty messages. Resulting in replies like "don't spam" or "don't chat mid race". Ah, what a warm welcom...

As a track moderator there, can confirm there were no further uploads ever since that mentioned date.
The website still works (albeit in http only) and you can download stuff, but everyone seems to upload their new content over the Re-Volt World.

Re: unable to install libwebp6/libfluidsynth1

Fluidsynth is for midi audio file support (not used in 99.99% game installs). libwebp is .webp image format library. Custom content creators don't really use it either, as far as I know. Thus it should be fine compatibility-wise for the most part, but if you see missing textures, then there's a pote...

Re: Main Menu: Visual Discrepancies between Vanilla Re-Volt and RVGL

Minor differences like these are expected. Speaking in source port terms, RVGL is more akin to ZDoom, meaning it won't be a vanilla experience. The closest to vanilla from the community in terms of functionality would be 1.2 beta patch (rv1.2b11.0208), it retains old font style, UI, AI, battery/elec...

Re: Various issues on Android

Sounds like files were not installed correctly. I assume you trying to install RVGL patch: https://rvgl.org/ Game data (folders - cars, gfx, levels, models, strings, wavs...) need to be in the same directory as game executable. Since it's Android then in the RVGL folder found in the device storage, ...

The current owner is Superday, basically remnants of former WeGo Interactive employees. H2Interactive is only responsible for publishing on GOG PC platform as far as I understand (hasn't changed since 2013 when it initially came out, and got pulled soon after). There are numerous people in the commu...

Re: Soundtrack WAVS

Wavs are the least disk space efficient option available, this is why no one bothers with it anymore when you can simply compress to lossless FLAC, but if you must to, convert from the FLAC rip. Kinda doubt full (if most) community OST is available in true CD/FLAC quality though, so better off havin...

Re: Bad STARTPOS use on some custom track since RVGL 19.0907

Nice catch, I've tested how it reacts if it does have a reversed version by copying needed files, and apparently the game uses the needed values for reversed. The problem appears from interpreting the third axis number (which should be plain 0), however the newer game versions take the first STARTPO...

Re: Show track thumb image in-game

TL;DR: Not impossible. The current implementation is the quickest and less risky in breaking the game.
With time and source code you could do almost anything, it's all about feature set priorities and whether it's worth spending more time on more difficult implementation and then debugging it.

Re: Show track thumb image in-game

I'm fairly sure devs would have used the same (similar at least) UI track select layout as in frontend, but likely due to memory allocation (for loading track gfx) they probably went for the quickest implementation. Texture load slots are different in frontend "level" from any race track. ...

*.mid files. The best use case for this would be sampled n64 music tracks, the only issue being with extracting the soundfont or tracks themselves, some instruments don't sound right or are missing.

9) Remove car-place bug If you hit enter to fast at the car selection, the car won't be placed on CAMPOS ID3. Can this be corrected? What makes you think this is a bug? I was wondering if someone has already tried to update this addon to the newsest version of blender. There's one recently for 2.9+ by Dummiesman. Although It wasn't updated from Marv's, but rather rewritten from scratch, I'm pretty sure, and is lacking certain features. https://github.com/Dummiesma...

I didn't understand at first, so I'm rephrasing.
