Re: [RVGL Release] 21.0930a

Hello @jamz and welcome to the forum! :) I'm sure that @Huki is able to tell you more, but please allow me to ask you if you have considered using the RVGL Launcher: https://re-volt.gitlab.io/rvgl-launcher/home.html Requirements (for the launcher to work) are described there for Linux, too, which sh...

Re: Show track thumb image in-game

@Huki I don't understand the technical aspects. Is it really impossible to show a track mini image of the track that is selected before the next race is started? It doesn't need to appear in that already available TV frame. For casual players, it's currently impossible to really know what they pick,...

Re: Xbox One controller -- force feedback does not work

@Alean @Huki I see the same for my clone Xbox360 gamepads on Linux by: $ fftest /dev/input/by-id/usb-*event-joystick (replace the * by the appropriate controller ID). In the game I observe a few vibrations, e.g. in the tunnel in "Toys in the Hood". However, none e.g. when being blown up or...

Re: Show track thumb image in-game

@Huki and others
Sorry to bumb this. There have been many views but no comments from others. I wonder whether this is because I'M the only one who would be happy about its implementation, or whether I've maybe not described the problem enough. Anyway, thanks for sharing your thoughts.

Re: 3 Weapon Ideas for Code mods

I'm thinking about the "moon" p'up from Beach Buggy Racing, i.e. other cars will start to lift off, steering made difficult. This is especially funny when triggered in a tunnel - all other cars will stick to the tunnel roof and thus be slowed down. Is this possible in RVGL?

Show track thumb image in-game

Hello Huki and contributors! Is it possible to show a thumb image for the selected track in-game ? By this I mean, when already a race is done and you return to the screen where you can select another track. See my (clumsy) proposal with the screen pasted below the red-framed box. This would be grea...

Gamepad vibration

Dear Huki and other devs/ contributors, I have some questions about gamepad vibration (not force feedback, which is something different): Does the code check the gamepads' energy and stop using vibration under a certain energy threshold, so the users can play further (without vibration) before they ...

Re: [RVGL Release] 21.0905a

Hi Huki, glad to hear from you as well. :) Meanwhile, I've switched to EndeavourOS (ArchLinux) and only use the RVGL Launcher (i.e. no script). Thus, RVGL runs very fast even on a 4K TV set with gfx settings maximised on a PC from 2008 (Intel board with Asus Nvidia GT710 GPU). I'm so happy that you ...

Re: [RVGL Release] 21.0905a

I've switched from Debian to EndeavourOS (ArchLinux) and don't regret it - it rocks. :D
I've installed rvgl via its launcher for Linux. The prerequisites were easy to fulfill. Rvgl is much faster/ smoother as on Debian or Windows 10 (same PC). :)

Re: [RVGL Release] 21.0905a

Hello! Long time, no write. ;) I wonder if the Linux python script could be updated to use aria2 for faster download of the packages? https://rvgl.re-volt.io/downloads/install_rvgl.py Plain wget is not very fast. :worm: Anyway, thanks for keeping RVGL such a great game over so many years!...

Re: RVGL Launcher

If you want to keep game assets (e.g. cars, skins, tracks, loading screens, music) between Windows/Linux and Android in sync, please consider using the RVGL Launcher for Windows/Linux and consider that downloaded package zip files are cached in the game's downloads folder. I.e. go to the Launcher's ...

Re: RVGL on Android

Even easier is downloading one complete apk (including original game content and soundtrack) from there . :) See installation notes for further background information. EDIT: Keep in mind that rvgl_assets content must overwrite game_files content ( game_files is older, rvgl_xyz is newer). As for the ...

Re: RVGL on Android

RVGL is now available on Android based devices (phones, tablets, etc). It should work on any recent Android device, technically 3.1 and newer, supporting both 32-bit and 64-bit ARM and x86 targets. A GPU supporting at least OpenGL ES 2.0 is required. However, it can be made to run on OpenGL ES 1.1 ...

Re: Xbox One controller -- force feedback does not work

Sorry to bump this, but I am still curious to know if vibration feedback really works. I also understand that vibration feedback is something different than force feedback. Whereas the former give vibration e.g. when hitting some object or driving over rough ground, the latter is really for steering...

Add local repo to launcher?

@Huki Maybe you would like to consider for the launcher a possibility to add an own (local) repository by providing a local link? (e.g. local machine or shared drive) I downloaded https://distribute.re-volt.io/packages.json to my local Desktop, renamed the file to test.json, and entered the path in ...

Share same rvgl.ini and profile.ini files on 2 different PCs? Or sync?

Hello! I have 2 (Windows 10) PCs with RVGL being started via the Launcher and would like to share the same rvgl.ini and profile.ini files on both PCs. How can I tell RVGL or/and the Launcher that the files are stored under a different path (shared SMB folder)? I know that changing file content while...

Re: rvgl.ini vs. GUI settings

Thank you so much for taking your time for this detailed reply. :) If EffectFlag is not shininess, what is EffectFlag for? When you refer to legacy settings, e.g. texture32. is my understanding correct that one should not fiddle with these but keep the values as defined in the rvgl.ini? I.e. I would...
