Re: New Game mode ideas, thoughts?

I don't know if this is maybe already around for years, I never do race that much. But I thought about that every car need to collect 10 stars or coins or whatever that are random placed on the track. The idea is that you need to collect them all (10/10) in 1 lap and if you miss one, you need to go...

Re: New Game mode ideas, thoughts?

This all sounds cool!
And now that custom animations are available, I think it'd be fun to do something like this, where the main platform would be rotating. That would definitely give people a hard time. :)

Re: Post upload tweaking at RVZ

Hey! I can see what you mean with your post, Manmountain, but I would like to provide you with a different perspective for cars that are being released. A few beta testers have a much lower chance of finding bugs in a car compared to many people who can download it from RVZ. Therefore, people should...

Re: Re-volt on a big screen?

Right now, my PC is connected to the big TV in the living room, so I am experiencing it. It is definitely fun! Looks nice in Full HD. Someone in the family also has an Android Box, but I haven't installed RVGL on it, yet. And an issue is that the Android port of the game is mostly optimized for mobi...

Re: Playing on Mac OS

Have you tried turning shaders off? You can do that in profiles/rvgl.ini. Look for the line "Shaders = 1", and change it to 0, of course!

Re: Make the process opengl uses similar to opengles

Svito, I'm not sure it's the best idea to recommend Arch Linux to people who use Windows... they will probably have a very hard time. For some people, Ubuntu could be the best distro. ;)

Oh, in that case, that could work. I assume the same line could be added to stock tracks then without any difficulty? :)

Custom starting position in time trials

Hey! I've been noticing more and more recently how much of a pain it is to go back each time in Time Trial mode. You mess up at the very beginning, you have to go back again, etc. I think a good solution would be the following: Add support for a seperate file, where the time trial starting pos/repos...

Re: Playing on Mac OS

If you download RVGL, and play it using wine, you can still play online (you need to join by IP).

Re: Playing on Mac OS

When I installed Wine on my macbook, I followed this cool tutorial ;) https://www.davidbaumgold.com/tutorials/wine-mac/

You can skip the "install windows programs" part, since RVGL is portable and all you need to do is unzip it!

Re: Replay files rarely show weapons fired properly

Note: Sting's video was recorded from my own saved replay, and I was obviously hit on my end when it happened live (I mean, I flew across the whole jump section). Another example from a day ago: https://streamable.com/9l0it4 I could definitely feel DVark's water balloon hit me. I was the host as wel...

Re: RV House News

Yes, all you need is 2310 UDP (not even that, if you only wanna join lobbies). I only have that, and I'm always connected to centralized, and I'm also able to host. The ports are only needed for creating RVGL lobbies.

RVGLauncher for Linux!

Hey, all! The idea of a launcher has been in my mind for quite some time now, and I've decided to create one! The main feature is the fact that you can launch with select IO classes. Other cool things included: - launch with cli options - custom list of folder names for launching - rename track fold...

Re: [RVGL] Direction triggers bug

Hey! Managed to test this on different framerates, and R6TE was correct. On lower fps, there's a higher chance that you miss a trigger because of this, I believe. From my tests, it seems like the game's physics refresh rate is the same as the fps number. My video shows it well: https://www.youtube.c...

Segmentation fault with all players crashing out

Hey! I think this happened to all of us once or twice before, and I don't know if there could be much done to avoid it. We were racing normally on TW1 (R) when suddenly every single player crashed out of the game. Since I ran it from command line, this is the error it gave: /home/hajducsekb/RVGL/rvg...

Year-in-review 2019 - Video

Hey, everyone!

I have created a cool vid about things that happened throughout 2019. Check the description of the video for the script! :)

P. S.: I got a request to publish the end seperately, probably will do that in a few days when I have time ;)

Re: Vote for Best Track of the Year (2019)

It does make sense. If a person votes for 1 track, it adds 1 vote to the overall. If they vote for 3 tracks, it adds 3. Therefore if all voted for 3, there were 51/3=17 voters. That's obviously not the case, but good for showing how it works :P

I don't think that's possible, since in the poll, I chose the option which doesn't let you change, and I think it happens anonymously. :|

Vote for Best Track of the Year (2019)

Hey, everyone! First of all, happy new year! I hope 2020 will be great. On the other hand, I want to present a glimpse of last year and look for some of the best maps that came out! Many tracks were released, and they have a lot of versatility. Some were utilizing new features, some were having cart...
