Steering wheel trouble

Unread post by rttavirv » Mon Mar 12, 2018 5:47 pm

I have a brand new Thrustmaster steering wheel that I can't get to work with RVGL. It recognizes the wheel is there and allows me to select it as the controller, but none of the controls work correctly. Any ideas for fixing this would be appreciated.

You have to make a controller profile using "Gamepad tool":
It's a program that makes custom profiles for SDL2 Game Controller API (The game uses this API since Huki added it). Using this program I was able to use my controller (PS2 with a USB PS2 to PS3 adapter) without using any custom drivers. I think you can use it for your steering wheel by using the wheel and the pedals as the thumb sticks. If you have less buttons than the xbox controller have, just skip some buttons. When you finished making a profile you have to copy the mapping string using the program's button and insert it into RVGL/profiles/gamecontrollerdb.txt
After you did this, RVGL will recognize the controller with your custom name, and you can map the controls properly.
